RSPCA Wirral & Chester Branch

Registered charity no. 219766

RSPCA Wirral & Chester Branch is a separate charity and relies on public support to help us continue the vital work we do in the Wirral, Chester and Ellesmere Port areas.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Support Adoption for Pets for a £5000 Covid grant to help us during this very difficult time. We are hugely grateful.

In light of the current developments with COVID19 we are changing the way we operate with immediate effect. During this difficult time, animals continue to need us and we intend to be there for them.

Temporary rehoming procedures.

We are delighted to say that Defra has now given approval to allow animal rescue organisations in England to start to adopt and foster animals again.

We will remain closed to the public but if you are interested in an animal please fill out the form on the link below.

tiny.cc/rspcawirral (you might need to highlight the link on the left, right click and copy then paste into your browser).

Please also note there may be more than one enquiry for a particular animal, when we will look at the applications to decide which we feel is best suited for that animal. Due to staff shortages, we apologise we are not able to reply individually to all enquiries.

DO – PLEASE continue bringing donations – leave them by the gate and we will monitor frequently. We still have almost 100 animals in our care.

Thank you all for your support at this difficult time and stay safe.

Chester Charity Shop will be closed until further notice. Please do not leave dontations/bags outside the shop as these will not be taken in and will cause a trip and health hazard for others.

We hope to re-open as soon as is practically possible and hope that you will continue to support our work in the future, but have to prioritise the health and welfare of our vulnerable volunteers at this difficult time.

WE SINCERELY APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THAT OUR SHOP CLOSURE MAY CAUSE.

**********************************

We have to give priority to the Inspectors as well as any sick/injured and unowned cats and we normally have around 100 cats on site at any one time. We have a no destruct policy so any animal with us will remain in our care until a suitable home can be found.

We are happy to say we have re-opened our kennels on a small basis to cater for 7 dogs. We can only accept dogs from the Inspectors that have suffered cruelty or neglect and by only having a small facility it means we can spend vital time rehabilitating them in readiness for their new homes.

We would like to thank all our supporters for helping us to achieve this, which makes such a difference to the animals in our community..

Potential owners must live within a 1 hour drive from the Animal Centre

As the Branch relies on public support, it is unable to pay for expensive operations/treatment so we have a separate fund especially for cats like that. Please scan the QR code with your mobile phone or visit https://www.justgiving.com/rspcawirralandchester if you want your donation to help save cats we couldn't ordinarily fund. We never know when we will get a cat like this and sometimes have a few at once.

Thank you for helping us help them.
